Well, that was a curious breach, wasn't it?

[She's avoiding mentioning the Mrs. Rogers + 2 kids thing because... Well. That wasn't a conversation she ever thought she'd have to have... With things as they were. As they are. Regardless, she may have a hint of a blush at the mention of the breach... and a touch of awkward hinting that she'd rather leave things at that.]

At least when I return home, I can say that I've had many experiences that I never thought were possible. I heard mention of a Book Club beforehand, is this something that's still going on? If so, I'm very much interested.

No, of course it's not too late. Our next book is The Great Gatsby. Have you read it?

Several copies were donated to the military in the war... Yes. But I certainly don't mind reading it again.

[Well, it's not exactly a "winning" smile, but... Peggy's trying that smiling more thing, so. Whether you think you deserve it or not, Leslie, you're getting it. Also? How thankful she is to be starting off with something familiar.]

It's a wonderful book about losing yourself in pursuit of this ideal of money and power. Like when you become a terrible person who breaks the law and hurts people for no reason other than the thrill of it.

[All said in one breath.]
